Exposure to Acoustic Trauma
Are you are a veteran? Is your spouse is a veteran? If your answer
is yes, then the following information should be of concern to you.
If while in the military an individual was exposed to significant
types of acoustic trauma from such things are machine guns,
artillery, mortars, engines, machinery, airplanes, etc. for extended
periods of time, and have had little or no exposure since leaving the
military, you may wish to contact the Anoka County Veterans Service
Office. The Veterans Administration has recently modified their
position on service connection for hearing loss and tinnitus (i.e.
buzzing or ringing in the ears).
In addition to a potential entitlement to a monthly compensatory
benefit, you may also be entitled to free hearing aids, glasses, and
medical care at a V.A. Medical Center, and medication provided at
$7.00/prescription/month.
For further information, please contact the Anoka County Veterans
Service Office at: (763) 323-5290. |
