CDBG
Housing Rehabilitation Program
Low income owners of single family homes may be eligible to
receive zero interest funds to make necessary home repairs and
improvements through the CDBG-funded home rehab program.
Funds are available on a first come, first serve basis and may be
used to correct code violations, meet health and safety standards,
weatherize the home or make energy improvements. Projects may
include repairing or replacing the roof, electrical or plumbing
system, windows, siding, furnace, water heater, insulation,
foundation, well or septic system. It also may be used to improve
accessibility.
The loans are deferred with no monthly payments and no interest.
Once rehab work is completed a lien is placed against the property.
The loan amount becomes due upon sale of the property, transfer of
title or if refinanced with a cash out option.
The program is administered by the HousingResource Center -
NorthMetro office, a program of the Greater Metropolitan Housing
Corporation (GMHC). For more information or to find out if you qualify for
