How To Obtain

Please note - First-time state ID card applications will be accepted at the Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, and Ham Lake License Centers but not at the Blaine and Ramsey License Centers.  See License Center Hours and Services for more information.

The License Centers will continue to process application for renewal and replacement of driver licenses, instructional permits and State ID cards.

Duplicates are issued to replace a lost or stolen ID card, or for address/name changes. The current ID must be valid for a period exceeding 90 days to receive a duplicate ID. If there are changes in address or name, proper identification must be presented.

The ID application form is available in any Anoka County License Center.

Go to the Minnesota Department of Vehicle Services Web site then click on "ID Requirements" for current rules on required identification.

Required Fees

Under age 65 - $18.00

Age 65 and Older - $11.00

Duplicate - $13.50

Anoka County License Centers can accept payment by cash or check.
