Bunker Prairie Festival is September 8

climbing wallThe first annual Bunker Prairie Festival and 5K “Bunker Prairie Stampede” will take place Saturday, September 8, at the Bunker Hills Activity Center in Andover, MN.

The festival is a free event to celebrate outdoor recreation and backyard conservation. Beginning at noon and running until 3 p.m., the festival offers an arts and crafts tent for children, live music by the Blue Drifters, a climbing wall, free hayrides, prairie plantings, and hands-on demonstrations on archery and apple cider making.

The 5K “Bunker Prairie Stampede” walk/run begins at 11 a.m. Participants may register for the 5K the day of the event for $20. All participants receive T-shirts and snacks. A free kid’s fun run follows the 5K at noon.

The Bunker Hills Activity Center is located at 550 Bunker Lake Boulevard NW in Andover. For more information on the Bunker Prairie Festival, call 763-757-3920 or visit www.anokacountyparks.com.
