Anoka County Tops In Housing Performance
Anoka County has received a ‘95’ in the 2007
Metropolitan Council Housing Performance Survey. The survey
evaluates municipalities, including counties and cities, and uses
the scores in determining priority for infrastructure investments or
expenditures to communities that have demonstrated their commitment
to providing their share of low and moderate income and life cycle
housing opportunities.
Anoka County received a final score of 95 out of
a possible 100 points. This score is the highest score the county
can achieve without owning or operating housing subsidized through
the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“This score clearly demonstrates Anoka County’s
ongoing commitment to providing affordable housing opportunities to
the residents of Anoka County. It’s also an opportunity for the
communities within Anoka County to benefit from the county’s track
record with the Metropolitan Council Housing Performance Survey in
securing additional funding for their own initiatives to better
serve residents who call Anoka County home,” said Anoka County Board
of Commissioners Chairman Dennis Berg.
