Commissioner Dan Erhart Named Chair of Anoka County Regional
Railroad Authority
 Anoka
County Commissioner Dan Erhart has been named chair of the Anoka
County Regional Railroad Authority (ACRRA). The rail authority is
the lead agency in efforts to develop major transportation
initiatives in the county, including the Northstar Commuter Rail
line running through Anoka County from Big Lake to Minneapolis.
“With completion of the Full Funding Grant Agreement in December
2007, we will see continuing progress on Northstar in 2008,” Erhart
said. “The ACCRA also is studying the possibility of reintroducing
passenger rail service between Minneapolis and Duluth on tracks that
run through the central part of Anoka.”
At the Anoka County board’s organizational meeting on January 8,
2008, Erhart was named chair of the county’s Finance and Capital
Improvements and Intergovernmental and Community Relations
Committees and will serve on the Waste Management and Energy
Committee. He also was appointed to the Refuse Derived Fuel Advisory
Board; Metropolitan Counties Energy Task Force; and the Minnesota
Inter-County Association.
