Selecting Family Child Care
There are many types of day care services including day care
centers, family child care and nanny services. Anoka County is
involved with licensing family child care homes. The information on
this web site relates to Anoka County licensed family child care
only.
Parents who use licensed family child care entrust their children
to a care provider for many hours each day. It is important for
licensed providers to supply a caring, safe environment for these
children.
A child care license is not a guarantee of quality child
care, but it does help protect the health and safety of children,
since it requires providers to maintain certain minimum standards of
care.
Parents can use checklist of items to cover when selecting a licensed
family child care provider.
