of suspected maltreatment of a vulnerable adult, call:
Adult Protection is a county-based service for vulnerable adults. A vulnerable
adult is a person whose ability to provide and protect himself or herself
adequately, without help, is impaired. Anoka County Human Service staff responds
to, and investigates, reports of vulnerable adult maltreatment (abuse, neglect,
financial exploitation). The county also provides protective services to prevent
vulnerable adult maltreatment.

According to Minnesota Statute 66.5572, a vulnerable adult is: A person 18 years of age or older who, regardless of residence or whether any type of service is received, possesses a physical, mental or emotional dysfunction that impairs the person's ability to provide adequately for his or her own care without help, and therefore has an impaired ability to protect him or herself from harm. Or: A person 18 years of age who is a resident or inpatient of a facility, or who receives services from a licensed home care provider, or from a personal care attendant provider under the Medical Assistance program. page last updated -
