Training

There are a number of training resources for adoptive parents:

  • Anoka County offers a Pre-Adoption Orientation & Training Program twice a year (fall and spring) in cooperation with Minnesota Adoption Resource Network (MARN). Register for a Pre-Adoption Orientation & Training Program
     
  • Minnesota Adoption Support and Preservation (Minnesota ASAP), offers training on pre- and post-adoption as well as Learning Alternative Behavior Strategies and TIPS (Topics of Interest to Parents Series). For more information, see Minnesota Adoption Support and Preservation
     
  • Minnesota Public/Private Initiative  A number of private agencies throughout the State of Minnesota are part of a Minnesota Public/Private Initiative. They can provide adoption education and home studies free of charge. The agencies are listed below:
