Foster care in Anoka County is based on developing warm, caring relationships between those in foster care and providers. Anoka County provides licensing, monitoring, support and training for family foster care homes within Anoka County.

 

Foster care is an opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child, teen or vulnerable adult. Providers may

  • provide care for children in the short- or long-term,
  • provide respite care,
  • serve as therapeutic caretakers, or
  • care for persons with special needs, and
  • providers may also be relatives of the person needing care.

 

Licensed foster care home providers are matched with the needs of individuals who would be in their care.
