Absentee Voting for Military
and Overseas Voters
Absentee voting is available for individuals visiting overseas,
living permanently overseas,
or military personnel. Special federal
and state laws apply to voting by absentee. If you would like
more information on absentee voting for military or overseas individuals,
you may do one of the following:
- Download the
military
and overseas application form and send to Anoka County Elections
by e-mail (must be a scanned image),
fax, or mail as soon as possible.
- Be sure to include your e-mail
address or fax number if you would like us to send your
absentee ballot by e-mail or fax.
- Once you apply for an absentee ballot as a military
or overseas individual, you will automatically receive absentee
ballots for each election you are eligible to vote in for
the next two federal election cycles. If you are no
longer in the military or living overseas, please download
the
Military/Overseas Revocation Form.
- If you applied for an military or overseas absentee ballot
and did not receive your ballot in time, you may be eligible
to vote using a
federal write-in
ballot. You must be an eligible military or overseas
voter and previously applied for an absentee ballot. If
you are voting by a federal write-in ballot, be sure to name
the candidates for state and local offices; designating a political
party preference works only in voting for federal offices.
