What kind of compost bin is it?
The bin is called the Home Composter®. It retails for $69.00.
Anoka County is selling the bin for $30.00, including tax.
Some of its features are:
- Large, 13 cubic feet capacity - as big as a 32-gallon garbage
can
- Measures 32”H x 26.5”D x 28”W (slightly oval)
- Large locking lid
- Two doors to harvest compost from the bottom
- Black to retain heat
- Made out of a minimum of 75% recycled plastic (mixture of
post-consumer and post-industrial plastic)
- Comes disassembled so it will fit in a car
- Lightweight and easy to assemble using snap lock construction
The bin comes disassembled: 2 sides, 1 top and a plastic
bag containing 4 clasps, 2 small doors and an instruction sheet.
The parts will fit in the back seat or trunk of most vehicles.

Program Details
Compost
bins are available at various locations throughout Anoka County.
Residents can go to participating lawn and garden centers and municipal
sites, during their regularly scheduled hours, to purchase a compost
bin. You must be a resident
of Anoka County to purchase a bin. Refer to the detailed site information below
for addresses and hours of each site.
You will pay by check
when you pick up your bin. Checks should be made payable to
Anoka County. The price is $30.00 per bin, including tax.
Limit one bin per household.
