Information About:

Fuels

Fuels include diesel fuel, fuel oil, gasoline, gasoline additives, gasoline/oil mixtures, kerosene, and lamp oil.

Fuel and fuel oils are flammable and toxic.  Improper storage and disposal can create health, environmental, and safety hazards.

Store gasoline and other fuels in an approved gasoline-storage container.  Be sure the container is clearly labeled.  Leave some air space in the container because gasoline expands.  Do not store gasoline or other fuels in your house; store fuel in a garage or outbuilding with good ventilation.  Store fuel away from sources of heat, flames, or sparks.

Do not put gasoline or other fuels in the garbage or pour them on the ground or down the drain.  Put fuel in an approved gasoline-storage container and take it to a location listed or to Anoka County Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
