Information About:

Cooking Oil

Disposal:
Cooking oil should not be poured down the drain!  Small amounts (less than 1 gallon per weekly pick up) may be frozen and placed in the trash inside paper towels, in plastic bags tied off to prevent leakage, or capped in the original container.

Recycling:
The City of Coon Rapids collects any vegetable-based cooking oil at their drop-off recycling center.  Collect your oil in containers no larger than 5 gallons.  Do not mix anything with the cooking oil or grease.  Empty the container into the barrel labeled Cooking Oil.

A limit of 5 gallons per person is accepted.  Take your container home for reuse or recycle it in the appropriate container at the drop-off center.  Please do not contaminate the oil collected at the Coon Rapids recycling drop-off center by placing non-vegetable oil in the cooking oil container.
