Pesticides are used to kill or control unwanted organisms.  Pesticides include

• Insecticides:  Ant killer, flea collars, roach spray 
• Herbicides:  Crabgrass, dandelion and weed killers 
• Rodenticides:  Rodent poison, mole bait 
• Fungicides:  Fruit sprays

Some pesticides are banned from use and others – “restricted use pesticides” – can be used only by certified applicators.

Herbicides may be combined with fertilizer in “weed and feed” garden products.  If a fertilizer contains a pesticide, manage and dispose of the product as a pesticide.  Do not put it in the garbage.
