Plastic - Non-recyclable Curbside

Many products are made of or come in plastic, but are not recyclable at this time. Just because a container has a recycling logo/code, it does not mean that it can be recycled in your curbside recycling program. Be sure you know exactly what your curbside recycling program accepts before saving the containers for collection.

Please do not place the following items in your curbside recycling:

Plastic wrap and bags*
Toys
Garden hose
Kiddie pools
Styrofoam™ cups, plates, egg cartons or packaging
Containers larger than an ice cream pail/bucket
Containers that have held hazardous automotive and yard products, such as motor oil and pesticides

*Plastic shopping bags are recyclable at many local grocery and retail stores. Some haulers accept when several bags are stuffed into a bag and tied. Check with your hauler. See our Plastic – Bags page for a list of locations that recycle plastic bags.
