A Guide to Civil Process for the Citizens of Anoka County

Sheriff's Sales and List of Sales

This site is intended as a guide to Civil Process for the citizens of Anoka County. The information contained herein is meant to answer the most common questions received by office staff. THE INFORMATION PROVIDED HEREIN IS INTENDED ONLY TO BE A GENERAL OUTLINE OF THE PROCEDURES THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE FOLLOWS. Sheriff's Sales

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office conducts various types of sales in accordance with Minnesota State Statutes 514.19 - 22. In the majority of cases the Sheriff's Office is acting as an auctioneer for the person who wishes the sale to be performed.

The following is a list of such sales. The list is not exhaustive:

  • Mortgage Foreclosure Sales (see section on Mortgage Foreclosures)
  • Execution Sales (see section on Writs of Execution)
  • Sales pursuant to court orders, tax warrants, etc.
  • Miscellaneous sales pursuant to various statutes (applying to specific circumstances)
  • Mechanics' Lien Sales (see section on Mechanics' Liens)

List of Sales

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office does not provide a list of sales. Mortgage foreclosure sales are advertised in legal newspapers. If the Sheriff’s Office is conducting a sale pursuant to a judgment and decree or as part of an execution action, the sale notice will be posted in three public display cases located at the following locations:

The City Hall building of the city in which the property being sold is located.
