Justice Services Division

The Justice Services Division is a diverse unit responsible for many law enforcement services including:

 

Civil Unit

The Civil Unit is responsible for providing timely service of legal court documents such as:

  • Domestic Abuse Orders for Protection
  • Harassment Restraining Orders
  • Orders for Seizure
  • Mental Health Commitment Orders

Court Security Unit

The Court Security Unit is responsible for maintaining order and security in the courthouse. The supervisor responsible for this unit is Sergeant Larry Doheny, 763-323-5013.

 

Prisoner Transport Unit

The Prisoner Transport Unit provides services as directed by court orders, warrants, extraditions, medical appointments, and civil commitments. The unit transports prisoners to court and medical facilities and travels to prisons and jails around the state on warrant pick-ups, writs, etc. The unit is also responsible for extradition of prisoners throughout the Uniteds States.

The supervisor responsible for this unit is Sergeant Eric Herschberger, 763-323-5117.

 

Records Unit

The Records Unit is responsible for the collection and production of all documents created during the course of criminal investigations. The unit also has responsibility for entering and tracking lost and stolen property through a state and national database known as the CJIS system. Items entered into this system include:

  • vehicles
  • boats
  • guns
  • missing persons
  • runaway juveniles

Requests for copies of reports can be made at the Sheriff's main office in Room W200 of the Anoka County Courthouse, 325 E Main St, Anoka, MN. Office hours are 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. The office phone number is 763-323-5000.

Copies of reports can also be obtained at the Anoka County Patrol Station located at 1530 Bunker Lake Blvd NW in Andover between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. The phone number is 763-754-4545.
